Safety Team
About
Throughout the season, safety team is responsible for keeping everyone safe. The members of this team ensure that no one gets injured and that nothing is left where people could get hurt. This includes making sure everyone is wearing safety gear and doing a quick check after each meeting. This team’s primary focus is prioritizing safety.
During Build-Season
Safety team members inspect other team members to make sure everyone is following the safety procedures. They must also make sure everyone clamps down and that no one is injured. As the robot is being built, these members will go around to make sure there is nothing left around that could bring harm to anyone.
During Competition
They make sure that everyone in the pit is following the safety rules and that the pit is safe and clean. These team members will administer help to small injuries if necessary and have a safety kit on them at all times in case of emergency. They are also responsible for talking to the judges and answering safety questions.

Job
The safety captain is responsible for making sure that everyone is practicing safe procedures. Since the team works with power tools, the captain must constantly be vigilant. The captain is also responsible for knowing safety procedures so that they can talk to the judges and safety team at competitions.
About Jay
Jay is a senior at Howard High school. He takes multiple AP classes and is one of the most responsible team members. He is the eldest of his family and treats everyone like a younger sibling, always making sure everyone is safe. Jay intends to major in chemical engineering when he goes to college.
